The Garden House is a classic example of mid-century modern open plan architecture, set in beautiful gardens in the little village of Holbeach Hurn amid the South Lincolnshire Fens, close to The Wash National Nature Reserve. Holbeach Hurn is just off Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 1 by The Wash, and sandwiched between the cycling honey pots of North Norfolk and the Lincolnshire Wolds. This is an ideal base for cycling holidays - with both local and longer distance cycle tours right on the doorstep in this largely traffic free area.
This section of Sustrans Route 1, Hull to Fakenham is the northern part of the Hull to Harwich cycle route, and also coincides with the UK section of the long distance North Sea Cycle Route. From Holbeach Hurn an alternate loop for Sustrans Route 1 allows a visit to The Wash and the dramatic sea bank bridleway which can be cycled all the way to Fosdyke Bridge - though this can be tough going. We are also an ideal distance from Lowestoft for those cycling the west to east 'side to side' route from Ardnamurchan to Lowestoft, or indeed Lands End to John O'Groats via the '4 sides'.
Secure under cover cycle parking and maintenance / repair facilities are available - shared with our collection of vintage and modern tandems ! Advice and help with route planning is always available if required. If you are walking and your route brings you close, but not close enough, local pick-ups and drop-offs are available by prior arrangement.
